The Church Coalition for the Bible and
Confession (Kyrklig
samling kring Bibeln och bekännelsen) is an umbrella organisation for those
within the Church of Sweden who wish to work together to ensure that the Bible
and the Confessional Documents should be the only guiding principle within the
Church (The Church Coalition Constitution, para. 1).
-
The Church Coalition was set up in 1958 as a result of an
invitation issued by Bishop Bo Giertz to representatives for various
traditionalist movements within the Church of Sweden, all firmly founded on the
classical Christian faith, and thus a Council of Co-operation was established.
This Council consists of some 30 – 40 members, who meet regularly to consult
and to take decisions about the work of the Church Coalition. The Council
appoints a Governing Body consisting of nine people. The chairperson of the
Council also chairs the Governing Body. Currently, Fr Yngve Kalin, Hyssna is
the chairperson.
-
The Association of Supporters of the Church
Coalition for the Bible and Confessionis a charitable trust, whose task it is to
support the work of the Church Coalition and its Council financially. The
Association of Supporters is responsible for fund-raising and similar
activities. Everyone who has contributed gifts and donations during the current
year is invited to the Annual General Meeting. Currently, the chairperson of
the Association of Supporters is Maud Lundin, Visby.
